Oar-Some Adventures on the water!

Learn to kayak and canoe along the stunning Cornish coast

Prices from £30

Cruise the coast on a kayak or canoe

Whatever your level of experience, kayaking and canoeing are a great way to explore our beautiful coastline, with its secluded beaches, rocky coves and amazing wildlife.

If you are new to paddling, our sit-on-top kayaks and canoes are ideal as they are very stable and carry no risk of entrapment. Even newcomers can quickly build up their expertise and gain confidence.

As well as providing lessons, we run kayak tours both in sit-on-top kayaks and sea kayaks. These will take you around our beautiful local coastline – it’s a very relaxing way to see places only accessible by sea. More advanced paddlers can work towards qualifications awarded by PaddleUK – click here for more details.

All our instructors are DBS-checked and NGB-certified, and Elemental is a PaddleUK accredited centre.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need previous paddling experience?

No experience is necessary, and our expert instructors will help you learn the ropes remarkably quickly. Phone our office and we can tailor your paddling session accordingly.

What is the age limit?

Anyone aged six and above can enjoy paddling.

Do you take non-swimmers?

Yes! Buoyancy aids are worn at all times, so it’s not essential that children are able to swim.

What should we bring?

Please bring swimming gear, a towel, suncream, a hat and a water bottle, plus closed-toe footwear that is suitable for use in the water (either wetsuit boots, water shoes or old trainers – no Crocs please). Don’t forget a packed lunch if you are doing a full-day session.

Where will we go on a kayak safari?

This will depend on the tide, weather conditions and experience level, but Swanpool is uniquely situated to explore local stretches of coastline that each offer their own special adventure.

What boats can we go in?

Depending on the weather conditions and experience level, we offer a range of sit-on-top kayaks and canoes as well as Canadian canoes and closed-cockpit kayaks. Double and single sit-on-top kayaks are available. Phone us for more details, or if you have a specific boat in mind.

WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS SAY?

Will definitely be coming back next time
“Our instructor had a great sense of humour and made our two hours fun. We paddled out to see a shipwreck and looked at the sea creatures on the way. I cannot recommend Elemental enough and will definitely be coming back next time we are in Cornwall.”
