WHAT IS COASTEERING?
Coasteering is a safe yet thrilling way to navigate the intertidal zone by climbing over rocks, jumping into the sea and exploring secret beaches, all under the supervision of our expert instructors. It will give you a whole new perspective on Swanpool Bay with its beautiful yet otherwise inaccessible rocks, gullies, coves and caves.
AN EPIC WAY TO NAVIGATE THE CORNISH COASTLINE
Like all our activities, coasteering is carefully managed and sessions are tailored to suit the tide and weather conditions as well as the needs and abilities of the group. So, whether you’re after a high-octane outing or a more sedate coastal exploration, you’re guaranteed a truly memorable experience.
Coasteering is a great activity for all ages – in fact, children as young as six can join in – but it does require a basic level of fitness to ensure your safety in the water. If you are unsure whether it’s suitable for you, please get in touch.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s the age limit?
Coasteering is suitable for anyone aged six and upwards.
Do you take non-swimmers?
Yes! Buoyancy aids are worn at all times, so it’s not essential that children are able to swim.
What should we bring?
Please bring swimming gear, a towel, suncream, plus closed-toe footwear that is suitable for use in the water (either wetsuit boots, water shoes or old trainers – no Crocs please).
How big are the jumps?
This depends on the tide, but we have a range of jumps to suit all abilities, from complete beginners to confident coasteerers, and we will tailor our route accordingly.
Where will we go?
The start of our route is Secret Beach, on the right-hand side of Swanpool Bay, and the coasteer continues around the adjacent rocks, gullies and caves, culminating at Stack Point, the location of our highest jumps.
How will reach the start of the coasteer?
Accompanied by your instructor, there is a 10 to 15-minute walk to the start of the coaster. If conditions and the group’s ability allow, we will go by kayak or paddleboard.
Is it safe?
With more than 20 years’ experience coasteering on the same coastline we make sure that our instructors go through a rigorous observation and training process to ensure your safety. And we work year-round to mitigate as many risks as possible since the Cornish coastline and conditions are ever-changing.
